Where is Tend available?

Tend begin services in the South-Eastern suburbs of Metropolitan Melbourne. As we grow our service, coverage will expand to increase our quality service to more areas throughout Melbourne.

How can I become a Tend care worker?

We are constantly looking for staff who wish to join the Tend team. How much does this service cost?

Direct services provided by a Support Worker are charged at an hourly rate. There are no establishment, administration or exit fees charged. Our pricing is simple and transparent regardless of the time of day you receive your services.

If you are wishing to access services and are the recipient of an Australian Government Home Care Package please call us for an assessment and quote for your services. The direct service charges continue to be charged at a flat rate, however, the Case Management fees will vary dependent upon your involvement and choices made.

Is Tend a government-approved care provider?

Tend is an Aged Care Approved Provider for the Commonwealth funded Home Care Program. This program has key objectives to support older Australians to live safely and confidently in their own homes with support from a range of services.

The objectives of the program are:
1. Assist people to remain living at home
2. Provide consumers with choice and flexibility in the way that consumers’ aged care and support is provided at home.

Tend offers HCP Levels 2-4, as well as a range of supplements as required, please call us for more information.

How does Tend vet care workers?

Tend places unique emphasis on the vetting process for quality, committed Care Workers to support our valued clients. Quality, safe care is what we are about.

All Tend Care Workers have been comprehensively vetted by management prior to presentation to you – it is your choice.  

All Care workers have been appropriately trained  and certified in formalised training programs specific to Aged care, and hold a current First Aid Level 2 and CPR certificate.  All staff have criminal record checks as well as working with children checks prior to commencing their employment, and their previous workplace behaviours and conduct has been checked through communication with two referees.

All candidates are pre- screened by way of an initial one hour face to face interview, this provides a good insight into the person and their motivation for wanting to join the Tend Care team. The next step is to meet for a second interview with the experienced management team to ensure the values, work ethic, behaviours and commitment meet the Tend standard.

In addition, we deliver a comprehensive mandatory induction training program, to continue to screen and support the care worker team through the early days of their employment, this journey continues with further on the job support and training and mandatory requirement to attend the Tend training program.

Are Tend care workers independent contractors or employees?

Direct Care staff and Case Managers are all employees of Tend. Home care package recipients may at times wish to receive services not delivered by Tend. In these situations fully contracted brokerage arrangements would be in place to safe guard all parties.
