Jeremy Martin

Jeremy’s drive to offer a positive difference in the aged care home care industry was sparked after searching for support for his 80 year old father.  

“People usually search for home care triggered by a stressful family situation and my experience was that the industry did little to initially alleviate that. It is near impossible to compare in-home care providers when they are all charging a range of extra fees.”

Jeremy realised that the industry needed to be revitalised through introducing a new approach to home care that was tailored more towards the needs of the consumer.  

"The best business model for in-home care is one that can quickly adapt to the consumers’ needs and wants.  Home care used to be a 'set and forget' model with providers holding the power. That is no longer the case. With the advent of Consumer Directed Care (CDC) and the recent rise of mobile technology, the market is now very competitive and it is quickly evolving to better meet customers’ needs. Consumers have a lot more choice and power in the home care market.

"The Aged Care Royal Commission has highlighted that consumers are fed up with high fees and lack of transparency. We have responded by making our fees the lowest in the market and making them transparent. We will continue to find ways to keep our prices low and also find innovative ways to make our prices tailored to the individual.”

Jeremy understands the market is ready for more flexibility in service delivery as well as an on demand service

Educated and raised in Australia, Jeremy was awarded a Japanese Government Monbusho Undergraduate Scholarship in 1991. He graduated from Kobe University with a Bachelor in Economics before spending 20 years in Tokyo and Singapore working in various finance related roles. These included Managing Director roles at Lehman Brothers and Nomura Securities where he traded fixed income products and managed teams.

I was thrilled to join Tend, a privately owned company established by Jeremy Martin (Founder), to create an in-home aged care service that was different in Australia’s increasingly competitive market.

Tend has grown since its inception, to deliver services across both Metropolitan Melbourne and more recently regional Victoria as a Government Approved Home Care Program Provider.

We are also proudly working in partnership with Alfred Health and MePacs to deliver our rapid response service to more than 1300 elders living in Southern Metropolitan Region who are supported by the Victorian State Government funded Personal Alert Victoria Program.

As a young company, we have a fresh canvas to deliver services that reflect our ideals about what quality, safe and creative services should be. We are able to be flexible and agile in all our dealings and we are very proud of the calibre of our staff who are the fabric of our service.

At Tend, we strive to provide a service that is compassionate and holistic. Our simple approach challenges the complexity of the aged care system, giving clients transparent, easy to understand information, as well as quality services at a fair price. 

The cost of care is poorly understood by the community, so our commitment to consumers is to deliver care that is affordable, achieved through our business model efficiencies.  Lower prices means more care dollars available for what matters most - our clients and their service choices.

Facilitating and supporting existing and new entrants into the aged care service environment is our duty. It is not only the provision of information that empowers the elders we serve, rather the lasting trusting relationships we develop together.

Jeremy’s global lens, inside and outside the Australian Aged Care Industry is truly inspiring. Coupled with our team’s expertise, Tend is well positioned to challenge the status quo. We regularly review service models and practices as well as technology used in Australia and overseas. We were thrilled to present recently on the international stage in Singapore at the Asia/Pacific 7th Eldercare Innovation Awards, 2019 as  Finalist “Best Home Care Operator.” 



Jane’s career has traversed senior clinical specialist and service management roles in various areas including; hospital based acute care, in-home and hospital based rehabilitation, as well as community care.

Previously, Jane held the position of Associate Operations Director at Epworth Hospital and later as National Operations Manager at one of Australia’s largest in-home providers of Aged Care and Disability services.
